@vickierc Hum....Interesting. Why do u hv a rosary? What is w/ "Holy Water" What is w/ the incense? Humm....Corinthians clearly is writn 2 the early church as was othrs letters such as Titus by Paul to explain that you need to put away all the old ways.Uh...because it is a symbol of a pagan method of worship. And by the way...my husband's aunt is a nun. Just died in the fall, but I can tell you there are many branches of the Catholic church, and in each branch there are denominations.

@katkollmer I don't go to the Catholic Church you have made up. Catholic's believe in one God, the Father Almighty, His only son Our Lord, and the Holy Spirit. To you the Trinity. To us The Most Holy Trinity. We don't worship gods or goddess. We don't need protectors of the earth happenings.The Sovereignty of God the Father Almighty over all His creation is the only protection needed..

@vickierc Vick...what Catholic Church do you go to? You venerate Mary. You believe Mary will work on your behalf. You religion still is part of the old religion that involved myths, gods, goddess, and protectors of the earth happenings. Mixing like a martini or daiquiri.

@vickierc okay....Vick....I do have the history of the "religion" of ancient Rome, the dates, the gods and goddesses, and when persecution started and with whom. What you have is a religion, which dictated by the State, telling you what you should know and not know. The post I made was months ago. Amy Grant is not Catholic. Sorry to burst your bubble.&the song was a tribute to the events that happened called Christmas. Mary was a woman. That is it. She was respected by Jesus.

Contrary to the claims of some, the Catholic Church does not teach and has never taught that Mary is God. Praying to her as you would God is not Catholic teaching. She is a part of our salvation story and a wonderful part, I hope she will pray for all of us endlessly until we are all home with our Lord.
