This is absolutely splendid choir singing: this is the way a (church) choir should sound like: deep, round, covered sounds, mysterious, with subdued female voices. Thank you for posting.DO YOU HAVE MORE?

This is glorious. Do they have a CD from this time and if so what is the name?

I love the vibrancy of the basses, it just comes so easily to them! The choral dynamics here in general are impeccable

Thank you. After reading your first comment, I really thought you were right :) One of the other basses could have sung a weaker F#1. The A1 (or Ab1) near the end is not written in the note sheet, but Pasiukov adds it, and so they could also have added an F#1 even if there is an F#2 on the sheet. But now we know that the note that we hear, is an undertone.

Oh I'm very sorry. It's strange because I believed I saw these harmonics. But I've just checked the sonogram one more time. Indeed, there are neither G1 at 1:19..1:25, nor F#1 at 1:15..1:32! And no G1 at 1:55..1:57. What a pity!..

There IS F#1 on this recording. Look at the sonogram and you'll see all the harmonics, from 1st to seventh and further. The situation similar to what you described takes place at the end of the recording, where composer, indeed, wants us to hear D1, while actually Pasiukov sings D2 and the chorus sings A2 and F#3, making up 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th and 10th harmonics, but no 1st and 7th. At 01:25 there is 1st and 7th harmonics among others. P.S. My audio system is very good :-)

There is no F#1 in this recording. I can tell because I have listened to the CD on several good HiFi-players. (I also have the note sheet) The reason why we hear the F#1 is because the composer wants us to hear it. He has written a C#3 above the F#2 in the bass line, and this "Empty quint" produces undertones that sound one octave lower. So even if we hear a weak F#1, nobody is singing it. BUT it is true that Pasiukov sings a clear and strong G1 on track 4 of the CD.

For those who can't catch a pitch... (0:16)B1(0:19)E2(0:24)B1(0:29); (0:30)B1(0:38)E2(0:44)B1(0:49); (0:50)B1(0:58)E2(1:03)A1(1:13)D2(1:19)G1(1:25)F#1(1:32); (1:35)B2(1:37)B1(1:40)E2(1:42)E3(1:45)A2(1:49)D2(1:54); (1:55)G1(1:57)... and so on, finishing on (3:32)D2.
