I love this song because it means so much to my church camp, because a young man who went, this was his favorite song and he was killed by a drunk driver who already had 11 DUIs

She is using the word "were" as He was the one back then in the past , who saw the out cast, and saved her. Not as were, no longer exist.The Lord God always Is, same God then, same God now.

to knightsofconstantine--- yep, i've read about the 5th-monarchy men. they were english dissenters that thought that christ would set up his kingdom in the 1600s. once their prophecy proved false, they disbanded. i think the same will happen to the 7th-day men. interestingly enough, i used to be a 7th-day man, yet i am now a 1st-day man. long live emperor constantine!!

to coventrygardens---- aye, some 7th-day men may be well-meaning persons, yet a lot of them seem like pricks. i think the 7th-day men will go the same way as the 5th-monarchy men. the 7th-day men were often connected to the 5th-monarchy men. i guess you're familiar with the 5th-monarchy men.
