Dr. Somogyi, I first heard about you back in the early 80's, when Windham Hill guitarists were heralding a great leap forward in acoustic guitar music, and many of them came to you for instruments that had the expansive brilliance to bring these new musics into the light of day. You set me on my path to become a luthier. You've been my mentor and teacher ever since then, albeit at a distance. You are a great gift to us all. I wish you the very best of good fortune, Sir. -edwinson

although a player, I am gonna check his book on how the guitar ticks, how the parts contribute, how they can be shaped for sound. BTW, did you notice that Mr Somogyi plays very well himself?

This video is the first i've ever heard of Ervin, and I must say, that was beautiful. Excellent video. Excellent guitars. Excellent talent behind these beautiful works of art.

I own a Somogyi om guitar and it is truly a work of art. Nothing else compares. He is the master of tone! The guitar is also the best playing that I've owned. Just love it!
