And I have news for you since it seems you've been oblivious to the advances made by science these past couple hundred years; we have a very good idea as to how old the earth is. And many different fields of science support that. I can say there is no god in the same way that you can say there are no fairies, no unicorns etc...

We weren't around when Joan of arc was burned at the stake , but we can say it happened because we have evidence of it. We weren't on all the scenes of all the crimes commited recently but thanks to "evidence" we can draw conclusions. Mistakes can be made, it should aknowledge, but we can consider rational though to be the most reliable process so far.By the way, where were you when your messiah resurected? Since it seems you only believe things that happened in our life time...

Hitler was a believer. Read "mein Kampf"; in his own words he states that getting rid of the jews would be doing " the almighty's will". You don't get to rewrite history to fit your views and morals.We haven't explored the entire universe but we understand quite a bit already. So far, the universe looks like a place would like had there been no god. By following your logic, you could also say "hey maybe there are 234 gods! maybe there's a three headed monley on Pluto! "

Christians arnt just saying this now, we have always held this position, its just that, and I am embarrassed to say that some zealous people ignore this and fight against the very term or thought of evolution. variation and adaptation is obvious, and even as a Christian I admit that NOBODY knows how old the earth is.we wern't there when God made it.

I agree that Religion has been the excuse of much evil If I did something evil in your name or twisted peoples belief in you to meet my own distorted concepts. that doesnt mean you would approve of those actions, or prove that you are nonexistent until every corner of our HUGE universe has been explored and searched by man isnt it rather arrogant to say that there is no God we havnt even left our solar system. other historical books say that Hitler eventaly rejected his faith, embracing atheism

Only through faith can the masses be swayed to act in the most amoral ways. I have no doubts that good things can be done in the name faith. Amas is the biggest provider of social services in Palestine for example. Altruism is far from being the monopoly of religion however. We are naturaly inclined to care for one another because it's the most viable way to survive. It takes blind faith for a society to commit horrors.

Hitler spoke, unashamedly, about God, fanaticism, idealism, dogma, and the power of propaganda. Hitler held strong faith in all his convictions. He justified his fight for the German people and against Jews by using Godly and Biblical reasoning. Indeed, one of his most revealing statements makes this quite clear:"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."

NO WAY...absolutely narrow minded religious fanatism is the absolutely PRIMARY concern I have for a peaceful world.As seen in the past, religion can lead to wars. Now Iran is moving rapidly towards becoming a nuclear military power. It takes very little effort to melt down the western world societies with such weapons in their hand.And their motivation is RELIGION...like Bush's motivation with the war in Iraq is RELIGION (and OIL) - Palin even called it "a task of God".
